Populus Moves for Movember
Movember is upon us! Each November, Movember encourages men and women worldwide to raise awareness and funds for crucial men's health issues, focusing on mental health, suicide prevention, and cancers such as prostate and testicular cancer. In this spirit, Populus is excited to announce that we are ‘moving for Movember’ to contribute to this vital cause.
With Populus having an equal split of women and men, we decided that our Movember wouldn’t revolve around the traditional notion of growing moustaches. Instead, we are embracing the challenge of actively working to alleviate men’s health issues by ‘moving for Movember’. Each of us will cover the Movember target of 60 kilometers through a variety of activities—walking, swimming, running, and biking. By engaging in these activities, we aim to shine a spotlight on men’s mental health and the devastating impacts of suicide, as well as the prevalence of cancers affecting men.
Our dedicated team includes swimmer Elaine, endurance runner Sim, triathlete Donna, gym enthusiast James, boxer Sofia, and footballer Joe. Each member will leverage their individual strengths to raise funds and awareness for this important cause. Some of our team members are so inspired and confident in their abilities that they are raising their targets to 60 miles (100 km) instead of the initial 60 km!
Movember serves as a reminder of the importance of men's health, encouraging open conversations and actions that can lead to significant change. As we take on this challenge, we invite everyone to support us in our mission to promote men's health and well-being.
Together, let’s make a difference this Movember!
